Reflection

Throughout the year I have always tried to be creative and unique with my projects like choosing to put Lebron in my snow globe rather than just using Olaf. My knowledge and ability to use photoshop have definitely increased throughout the year starting with just applying filters and now being able to remove a background and photoshop in a new one. I have tried to always to learn as much as I can about taking better photos and better using photoshop. My subjects of most of my photoshop projects such as the ones I applied filters to are sports stars because I am a big fan of sports. I pay attention in class and help Claudio when he needs help with photoshop.  I definitely try to be efficient with my class time and always do what I can to take the best photos.

Portrait Study

1. I think that the top left rule of thirds balance is most effective because it looks the best overall and most balanced.
2. I think the balance to the right is the least effective because it doesn't look as balanced and good.

painting with light

1. A lower f-stop allows more light to get into the camera.
2. A higher f-stop allows less light to enter the camera
3. The shorter the exposure the less time light has to get into a shot.
4. The longer an exposure allows more time for light to enter a shot.
5. The painting with light worked well after we figured out how to write it backwards.

1. The levels tool worked best for the 1st image.
2. The curves tool worked best for the second image.
3. I liked the levels tool the most.
4. The texture looked better after the filter was applied because the contrast made each part of the photos texture stand out.

The Presidents photographer

What type of photography does Pete Souza practice as the president's photographer?
1. He is a documentary photographer to create an archive of pictures for history.

Who was the first president to have a photographer?
2. Lyndon B Johnson

What did Nixon do to his photographer?
3. He made him leave his office before a broadcast, he severely restricted his photographers access.

The President's photographer's office used to be the what?
4. The white house barber shop.

Where are most of the photographer's photographs displayed?
5. They are displayed in the west wing of the white house.

How long is the photographer's typical day?
6. All day long he has to go wherever the president goes.

Can Pete delete photos if he does not like them? Why/why not?
7. Pete can't delete photos because it is a law that anyone can view any photo.

Would you want to be the President's Photographer? Why/why not?
8. I think that it would be a cool occupation because it gives you unprecedented closeness to the president and what is going on in the USA.

Bracketing Assignment

1. Which setting worked the best?
The f-stop function worked the best in allowing the most light into a shot.
2. Which setting did not work at all?
Every function worked like they were supposed to.
3. Did this exercise help you understand f/stops better? how?

This exercise allowed me to see that the smaller the f-stop the more light that gets into the shot and the larger the f-stop the more focused on the subject the picture is.
4. If you want to increase the depth of field in a scene and keep the same level of exposure, what are your options?

You would keep the iso constant while increasing the f-stop.
